Our new bikes!

Mom and Dad gave us bikes for our birthdays this year.
We're still practicing braking and aren't allowed to leave the driveway,
but we can smell the freedom!

Freedom??
What are you talking about Owen?
I think that's dog poop.

Hey....you smelt it, you dealt it!

Our latest obsession....Croquet!

Check it out Owen!
I got it through the hoop!

That's right, you can call me Coach from now on.

Outdoor Art Class

We took our painting outside today to capture some inspiration from nature.
We're learning about inspiration from a new book about a snake named Hank.
I have my headphones on because Mom says it's a little chilly and I have another ear infection.
It also helps to block out the whine coming from my right. : )

MOM! It's too bright out here!

Ryal, maybe don't look directly at the sun.

Sesame Street Live!!

Mom and Nana took us to see Elmo last week!
Ryal had to wear his headphones.
You never know when Elmo and friends will decide that a crowd is ready for some heavy metal!
It's always best to be prepared.

I wanted to go on stage.
Mom said no.

She did let us get this close though!
That totally makes up for the lame glow sticks she got us!
We wanted the ones at the show with Elmo on them and she pulls these
Dollar Store pieces out!
Who does she think she's foolin'?

A Little Fishing

We went fishing last week.
It was a serene and calm display of father/son time.
I think Mom was crying.

Two minutes later Owen found a big stick.

He threw it in the water and I laughed.
That was the end of fishing.
Then Dad fell in up to his knees.
Mom was laughing too hard to get a picture!

Then Dad started a campfire for us and we cooked our hotdogs.
This summer has officially been given the title of ...
"Grubby Boy Summer"

Mmmmm...smores!

We love our presidents!

The Easter bunny brought us a new puzzle.
With some help from mom and dad we were able to finish it in one sitting.
Here's hoping this puzzle's good through 2016!
We're IN!

Where babies come from...

While driving home from dinner last night we took a route that led us past the building where John and I had our wedding reception. An amazing conversation ensued and here's how it went down.....

Meg - That's where mom and dad had their wedding reception a long time ago.
Ryal - Were we babies then?
Meg- No, we didn't know about you then?
Ryal - Were we in your tummy?
Meg- No, you were still with God.
Ryal- Were we bowling with God?
Meg- Yes, you were bowling with God until he decided it was time to put you in my tummy.
Owen - No, he dropped me in the meadow and I walked into town.

-Amen

* During thunderstorms we tell the boys that God is bowling and that's why it's so loud outside.
